Renewable energy (solar panels, wind turbines etc) takes energy from resources that are naturally replenished on a human timescale from: sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves and geothermal heat - basically a nice friendly way to make energy without harming our environment and our health.

Unfortunately most of the world still relies on natural gas for energy and In 2013, the United States consumed approximately 26.03 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of natural gas in that one year.

There's a few problems with this:

1) Natural gas is non renewable and supply cannot be replaced.

2) It emits carbon dioxide and methane harmful to our environment, effects global warming

3) and uses a seriously harmful process known as "fracking" to extract the gas from rocks way underground which causes ALL kinds of havoc to our environment and our health.

These are just a few of the negatives.

There are over 1,000 documented cases of water contamination next to areas of gas drilling as well as cases of sensory, respiratory, and neurological damage due to ingested contaminated water due to fracking. To find out more visit the website, which is so beautifully illustrated and super informative.
